The year 2002 The vintage was marked by a contrasting climate: a generally hot and dry spring, a scorching July, a cooler August, followed by more intense heat in September. This alternation resulted in deeply colored wines with intense and complex fresh fruit. The best Merlots are distinguished by a particularly expressive aromatic profile, combined with a beautiful tannic structure, free of astringency.
Tasting notes:
The dress is garnet, slightly brick-red from aging.
On the nose, you can smell aromas of spices and cloves.
On the palate, there is a beautiful integration of the wood which brings complexity with supple tannins and a beautiful finish for this "Les Essais" cuvée from Château Michel de Montaigne.
Grape harvest:
From September 20th to October 10th.
Assembly :
45% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon.
