Explore Montaigne's estate , where the thoughts of the great philosopher still resonate.
Located between Bergerac and Bordeaux, the Château de Montaigne , a listed historic monument, opens its doors to you. It is made up of several emblematic buildings: the famous Tour de Montaigne , where Michel Eyquem de Montaigne wrote his Essays, and the 19th-century château of the Magne family, in a refined neo-Renaissance style.
As you climb the steps of the Tower, follow in the footsteps of the philosopher and let yourself be inspired by his life, his work and his humanist spirit.
Extend the experience by exploring the 19th-century château: an immersion in the Belle Époque , a century of revolutions, progress and elegance.
Finally, stroll through the park, admire the rolling landscapes, and let yourself be seduced by a tasting of the estate's wines , a reflection of a rich and authentic terroir.
This summer, don't miss our cultural and festive program , with theater, shows and guided tours for young and old.
